Working in Customer Relations, a fascinating world!

Interview with Stéphanie Tainon, Recruitment Director at Armatis.

Can you tell us a bit about your career so far?

My career’s been marked by 2 main experiences.

The first one at Adecco, starting out as candidate recruitment officer and ending up as Branch Manager. I spent 9 years there, during which I developed solid skills in recruitment of varied profiles as well as in human resources management.

In 2010, I decided to join Armatis as HR and recruitment officer for the Bordeaux site before taking up the post of HR Manager and then of multisite, multi-subsidiary HR Director.

After 12 years’ experience in operational HR, I now manage the Group’s HR projects and recruitment in France and abroad.

What challenges are there in recruitment these days, in particular for Armatis?

Above all, in my opinion, as a company we have a societal responsibility towards our employment basins. It’s a matter of giving candidates the opportunity to make use of their talents, develop them and succeed in making a career, whatever their age, gender, background, social environment, qualifications, and so on.

It’s true that recruiters have to deal with a good many challenges these days. Covid marked a turning point in our relationship with life, and in extenso in our perception of the world of work.

The days when we all sought to obtain an open-ended contract and job security are gone. What counts now is finding innovative, flexible working conditions that provide a good work-life balance.

Armatis meets these expectations, providing a flexible, friendly work environment with telework arrangements, and opening up prospects for the future, springboards to careers.

Nonetheless, our sector suffers from stereotyping that makes it seem less attractive: an outdated image as a “bread-and-butter job”, assembly-line work. In this regard, my main challenge is providing our activities with a new image and making people want to meet us, communicate with us and come and get to know what Customer Relations is all about.

You can make a career in our company, there are plenty of opportunities. I’m an example!

How do you apply?

We provide our candidates with 2 pathways:

The 1st is 100% digital via our career website,  on which we recruit without CV, or via LinkedIn, Indeed, Pôle Emploi, and so on. Once a candidacy has been submitted, our HR unit contacts the candidate to present the company to them, along with the position in question, etc.

The 2nd is 100% physical via the group information sessions we hold on our sites so that candidates can get to know them: presentation of the company, its activities, teams, and so on.

Whatever the channel, after the 1st contact we send spelling, language and other tests depending on the position involved.

Finally, all candidates have an interview with a recruitment officer, in which test results are discussed, helping applicants improve their self-knowledge.

What profiles?

Any 😁

Any talents, any age, any backgrounds…
