The European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities (SEEPH) is a key event to raise public awareness about disability issues and promote inclusion across social and professional life. From November 17 to 23, 2025, various activities help everyone better understand the daily challenges faced by people with disabilities.

The main goal is to shift perceptions on disability. By fostering inclusive environments and valuing diversity, we enrich society and create a world where everyone, regardless of their situation, can thrive fully.

Rémi Oyharcabal, HR Associate and Armatis Disability Referent

A trained disability referent team is available at all our sites to support affected employees.

Armatis reinforces its commitment to employing people with disabilities through adapted working conditions and team awareness on inclusion challenges.

Our objective: ensure accessible, practical, and respectful professional environments where everyone can perform their role optimally.

Can you tell us what a disability referent is?

The Disability Referent supports the integration and retention of employees with disabilities. They inform, guide, and direct staff while raising site-wide awareness on disability. It’s a human, hands-on role to guarantee inclusive and supportive workplaces.

Why did you personally take on this mission?

I accepted because I care deeply about supporting employees in their career paths. As an HR Manager, I’m close to staff and attentive to their needs. It’s also personal, with family members affected by disability, and aligns perfectly with my values and Armatis’.

Does the disability referent receive specific training?

Yes, I completed external training on various disabilities to understand them and adopt the right approaches with employees. We also work closely with the Group Disability Referent, exchanging regularly on actions and available resources.

Are you the only disability referent at Armatis?

No, every Group site has its own. It could be an HR member, nurse, employee representative, or any willing employee. This ensures proximity listening and support for all staff.

Do employees come to you, or do you reach out?

Both. New hires are informed about the referent’s presence, encouraging them to approach. When a situation is flagged, I proactively meet the employee to discuss and reassure. The aim is building trust and compassionate listening.

What are the main requests and resources you use?

Requests typically involve workstation or schedule adjustments. I collaborate with occupational health, workforce management, and production managers to adapt conditions. Partners like Cap Emploi or Agefiph provide additional support.

Any final message?

Disability isn’t always visible, and prejudices persist. Each of us can shift perspectives and promote true equal opportunities. Focus on skills before differences. Together, make inclusion a daily reality.

My key message: Promoting equality means recognizing skills before differences, giving everyone the same chance to succeed.
