Interview with Stéphanie Tainon, Head of Recruitment at Armatis.
Can you tell us about your career path?
My career has been shaped by two key experiences.
I started my career at Adecco, initially as a recruitment officer, eventually progressing to the role of branch manager. This experience spanned nine years, during which I developed strong skills in recruiting a diverse range of candidates, as well as in human resources management.
In 2010, I decided to join Armatis as an HR and Recruitment Officer for the Bordeaux site, before taking on the role of HR Manager and subsequently HR Director for multiple sites and subsidiaries.
After 12 years’ experience in operational HR, I am now responsible for managing the group’s HR projects as well as its recruitment in France and internationally.

What are the current challenges in recruitment, particularly for Armatis?
First and foremost, in my view, as a company, we have a social responsibility towards the communities in which we operate. This means giving candidates – regardless of their age, gender, background, social circumstances or qualifications – the opportunity to put their talents to use, develop them, flourish and build a career.
It is true that recruiters face many challenges today. The Covid-19 pandemic has marked a turning point in our approach to life and, by extension, in our perception of the world of work.
The days when we all sought permanent contracts and job security are long gone. What matters most now is finding innovative, flexible working conditions that strike a balance between work and private life.
Armatis meets these expectations, offers a friendly, flexible working environment with remote working arrangements, and also provides opportunities for the future, springboards to success and career progression.
Nevertheless, our sector suffers from stereotypes that undermine its appeal: an outdated image of a ‘bread-and-butter job’ or assembly-line work. That is why my main challenge is to present a different image of our roles and to encourage people to meet us, talk to us and come and discover Customer Relations.
In our company, you can build a career – there are plenty of opportunities for progression; I’m a case in point!
How do I apply?
We offer two pathways to our candidates:
The first is 100% digital via our careers website, where we recruit without the need for a CV, or via LinkedIn, Indeed, Pôle Emploi, etc. Once an application has been submitted, our HR team contacts candidates to provide an overview of the company and the role…
The second aspect is 100 per cent practical, through group information sessions that we organise at our sites to help people find out more: an introduction to the company, its roles and its teams…
Regardless of the channel, following the initial contact, we send out spelling and language tests (…) depending on the role.
Finally, all candidates have an interview with a recruitment officer, who discusses, amongst other things, the results of the tests, which helps applicants gain a better understanding of themselves.
What sort of candidates?
Everyone 😁
All talents, all ages, all backgrounds…
