Armatis, a French pioneer in customer experience, has announced the launch of a customer relations programme within the prison system, at the Orléans-Saran Prison (Loiret), developed in partnership with the prison service. This initiative forms part of the group’s ongoing CSR strategy, which is based on diversity, inclusion and the belief that work is a key driver of empowerment, dignity and sustainable reintegration.
In France, access to employment for prisoners is a key issue in terms of social cohesion and the prevention of reoffending. By committing to this scheme, Armatis aims to provide a practical and humane response to this challenge, by putting its professional expertise at the service of a project that is transformative, meaningful and creates opportunities for those it supports.
From the outset, the scheme was designed as a project involving close cooperation between Armatis and the prison service. The Orléans Saran prison was chosen as the location due to the quality of its environment, the experience of local stakeholders and the region’s capacity to support a project developed collectively.
A workshop set to be operational from 2026
From February 2026, this scheme will enable the creation of 24 posts, specifically designed to support prisoners in acquiring vocational skills, particularly in customer-facing and back-office roles.
The project was developed jointly by Armatis and the prison service, from defining the activities right through to the operational organisation, taking into account requirements relating to security, confidentiality, training and the monitoring of participants’ progress.
Train today to prepare for the release
The scheme is based on the belief that work prepares prisoners for release. Participation is voluntary, and applicants undergo a rigorous selection process, carried out in conjunction with the prison service, based on their aptitudes, behaviour and ability to follow a structured career path.
Armatis guarantees:
- vocational training,
- support with skills development,
- operational and quality monitoring,
- day-to-day supervision by a dedicated manager who is fully committed to the business.
A support scheme involving all stakeholders enables personalised and flexible support throughout the process, promoting independence, self-confidence and employability upon release from prison.
“The launch of a workshop at Saran Prison is entirely in keeping with Armatis’s core values: helping to provide skilled jobs with a significant social impact. This initiative enables us to fulfil this mission in a unique setting and reaffirms our commitment to the integration of people who are distant from the labour market.” David Gillaux, Chairman of Armatis
“This project with Armatis demonstrates the ability of the prison service and a private company to come together around a shared ambition: to work towards rehabilitation and to strengthen social cohesion and public safety in the long term. By combining our expertise, we are building a sustainable, win-win partnership that places people at the heart of these pathways, in the interests of all. ” Emilie Bellanger, Head of Corporate Relations at the Interregional Directorate of Prison Services for Dijon, Centre-Val de Loire and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
Through this project in Saran, Armatis is reaffirming its commitment to reintegration through work, to combating reoffending, and to a socially responsible approach that brings about positive social change.
